Mingling notes of wild berries and cherries with hints of peonies, rose petal, orange rind, exotic spices and musk, it's full-bodied, layered and multidimensional, with a velvety attack that segues into a fleshy, textural mid-palate defined by depth and purity of fruit, concluding with a long and penetrating finish.

Alessandro Noli's second vintage at the Domaine du Clos de Tart is another notable success, as the accompanying notes attest. As I wrote last year, changes effected by Noli at this address include much gentler handling of the grapes during cuvaison—just occasional "foulage," as Noli puts it, by foot—and diminished percentages of new oak: 70% for the Tart herself and 50% for the Forge. Some concrete eggs, it seems, now keep the fûts company in the cellar.

Neil Martin, Vinous, September 2023 - 96P:

The 2019 Clos de Tart Grand Cru has a wonderful bouquet of ebullient red berry fruit, hints of tea leaf and sous-bois, understated initially but unfurling with each swirl of the glass. There is a vast weight of fruit on the nose. The 2019 Clos de Tart offers a superb expanse of joyous fruit on the palate, threaded through with white pepper, while despite the flesh it is light on its feet. It has all the structure necessary for very long ageing without showing reticence in its first bloom. A brilliant wine with excellent potential.
